For lower abs the best workout by far is a reverse crunch. To preform a reverse crunch you lie on your back with your hands placed directly to the back of your head, bend your knees and hold your feet about 5 inches off the ground. Slowly bring your knees toward your chest, picking your butt up off the ground slightly. Concentrate hard on tightening your stomach muscles. Make sure you do at 3-4 sets of this exercise. As before you should repeat the move 15 to 30 times per set and rest for about 2 or 3 minutes in between.

While there are a wide variety of exercises out that claim to flatten your stomach, these two are the best. The main problem people face when trying to get a flat stomach is in proper dieting and executing the exercises for their abs incorrectly.
